Rose Type: Climbing Rose
Tropical Lightning® produces uniquely colored blooms in smoky sunset orange layered with purple tones and streaked with bright cream stripes. The flowers reach about 3–4 inches across with 20–30 petals, and both the buds and open blooms hold their unusual coloring well. Glossy foliage and dark burgundy-red new growth add even more contrast to the plant.
The blooms carry a light Tea fragrance and are produced freely on a vigorous, spreading climber that can reach about 10–12 feet tall. Tropical Lightning® offers strong disease resistance and tolerates both heat and some shade. Once mature, the plant delivers an abundant display through much of the season, slowing as it transitions toward winter.
